Short Bio:

Alexis Daria is a native New Yorker and award-winning author writing stories about successful Latinx characters and their (occasionally messy) familias. Her debut TAKE THE LEAD won the 2018 RITA® Award for “Best First Book” and was one of the “Best Romance Novels of 2017” in The Washington Post and Entertainment Weekly. Her super powers include spotting celebrities in NYC, winning Broadway ticket lotteries, and live-tweeting.

Alexis Daria author photoAlexis Daria is a native New Yorker and award-winning author writing stories about successful Latinx characters and their (occasionally messy) familias. She has a BFA in Computer Arts, but her most fulfilling job was as a group facilitator for a women’s empowerment community, where she coached other women in following their creative dreams. 

You Had Me At Hola coverTAKE THE LEAD, Alexis’s debut contemporary romance, won RWA’s RITA® Award for Best First Book. It was named one of the Best Romance Novels of 2017 by The Washington Post and Entertainment Weekly. Alexis is also the recipient of RWA-NYC’s 2018 Golden Apple Award for Author of the Year. Her next book, YOU HAD ME AT HOLA, will be out July 7, 2020.

Alexis currently serves as treasurer on the executive board of the New York City chapter of RWA, and has previously held the positions of VP of Programs and PRO Liaison. From 2016-2019, Alexis co-hosted #RWchat, a weekly Twitter chat for romance writers held every Sunday evening.
